Isaac’s Willingness
We often talk about Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice Isaac, but we rarely mention Isaac’s willingness to be sacrificed. Think about it—his father tied him to the altar, and there’s no mention of a struggle. Maybe there was, but what stands out is that Isaac trusted his father’s word when he said, “God will provide.”
That trust didn’t happen overnight. Abraham’s relationship with God was so solid that people knew if he said, “God said it,” then God truly said it. Isaac saw that consistency and obedience in his father, and it gave him the faith to follow—even in an unthinkable situation.
That’s the kind of people we should all strive to be—living so closely with God that our actions inspire trust in Him. May our lives reflect that kind of faithfulness, so others are drawn to trust God’s promises too.
