Week 19: 1 Kings 22-2 Kings 16 and Psalms 124-130
Congratulations on making it to Week 19!
This week, we will continue following the kings of Israel and Judah as the divided kingdom’s story unfolds. We see the consequences of idolatry, the rise and fall of various kings, and the prophetic ministry of Elisha. The reigns of Ahab, Jehoshaphat, and other kings demonstrate the challenges of leading God’s people, especially when they turn away from God’s commands.
We’ll also see Elisha’s powerful ministry, where God works through him to heal, provide, and bring judgment. These chapters highlight God's justice and mercy, even as Israel and Judah face consequences for their disobedience.
As we read, reflect on the importance of staying true to God’s word, the cost of turning away from Him, and the hope that can be found in God’s faithfulness to His promises.

What’s Ahead:
This week, we dive into the continuing story of Israel and Judah, witnessing both their victories and failures. As we read about the reigns of Ahab, Jehoshaphat, and others, we are reminded of the dangers of idolatry and disobedience. But we also see God's provision through the ministry of Elisha, who brings healing and judgment. This week calls us to reflect on our own commitment to God, and to seek His guidance and faithfulness in every situation.
Prayer for Week 19:
"Lord, thank You for the lessons we learn through the lives of Israel’s kings and the ministry of Elisha. Help us to remain faithful to You and Your word, even when faced with difficult circumstances. May we seek Your wisdom and guidance in all things, and trust in Your justice and mercy. Thank You for Your faithfulness, even when we fall short. In Jesus’ name, Amen."
