What’s Ahead:
This week in Numbers, we will see God’s organization of the people as they prepare for their journey. From the Levites' duties to the census, God gives specific instructions for how the community should operate. Numbers 10-12 sees some of Israel’s rebellion, with complaints from the people, which result in consequences. Numbers 13-15 introduces the spies sent into Canaan, and the negative report from the spies leads to a moment of rebellion. God calls them to trust Him, but due to their disobedience, they must wander in the wilderness. Throughout these chapters, we see God’s constant faithfulness despite the people’s failures, teaching us the importance of obedience and trusting in His promises.
Prayer for Week 8:
"Lord, thank You for Your continual guidance through the book of Numbers. We see Your faithfulness, even when Your people grumble and disobey. Help us to remain obedient to You and to trust Your plans, even in times of difficulty or uncertainty. May we remember that Your promises are true, and that You are always with us, even in the wilderness. Strengthen us this week, that we may walk in faithfulness and obedience, and honor You with all our lives. In Jesus' name, Amen."
